Live the hazardwithout taking the risk

A fall from height, a chemical spill, a fire evacuation, an electrical panel. These cannot be rehearsed in a real plant — virtually they can be lived through, and repeated.

Where a drill is impossible,training turns into a slide

The most critical topics in safety training are exactly the ones that cannot be tried for real. Nobody spills a chemical to rehearse an evacuation; nobody holds a worker at height so they can feel the drop. So the riskiest topics get taught from slides.

A virtual environment fills that gap. The participant stands at height and feels the drop, sees the spill, picks the evacuation route themselves. A wrong decision leads to a consequence, and the consequence is recorded.

The second gain is measurement: who completed which scenario, in how long, with which mistakes. That record is what fills the training file.

How it is built

  1. Risk assessment

    The scenario list comes out of the plant’s own risk assessment and its accident and near-miss records. Not a generic library — your risks.

    For each risk the correct action, the wrong action and its consequence are modelled. The participant decides; the simulation shows the result.

    The session runs at the plant, with the instructor present — guiding from inside the scene or watching from outside.

    Time, errors and completion land in the report as the session ends; results export to your existing LMS through SCORM or xAPI.

    Falls, spills and fire move off the slide and into practice. The participant goes through the scenario rather than hearing about it.

FAQ

Does VR training replace legally mandated training?

It does not. The regulation requires start-of-work training to be hands-on and face to face, and certain basic-training topics to be face to face in hazardous and very hazardous workplaces. Virtual reality can be used as a practical tool inside those sessions; it does not remove the obligation. Which topic is delivered by which method should be decided with your safety specialist.

Does a session count as distance learning?

Not if it runs at the plant with the instructor present — participant and instructor are in the same room, which makes it face-to-face training. If they are in different places the session can run remotely, and then the regulation’s distance-learning rules apply.

How do results reach our existing LMS?

The session result is exported as a SCORM package or as xAPI statements, both standards that common learning management systems read. The exported data covers participant, scenario, duration, error types and completion.

Is it a problem for an employee with a fear of heights?

Scenario intensity is adjustable and the participant can leave the session at any moment. Because the instructor is in the scene, they see the reaction immediately. That flexibility is not available at a real height.
